Melody is led by Omar Jaffrey and Andres Scaminaci who have over 40 years of combined investing, credit, deal structuring, legal and banking experience.

Melody’s founders have a long history of working together at leading global financing institutions and have been successful through various market and economic cycles. The team’s history as credit investors has created a process and discipline that Melody believes sets it apart.

Omar Jaffrey is a Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Melody. He is also a member of Melody’s Investment Committee. Over his 26 year career, Mr. Jaffrey has been involved in M&A, strategic partnerships, public and private debt and equity, and restructuring and bankruptcies. Prior to founding Melody, Mr. Jaffrey held the titles of Vice Chairman and Senior Advisor for TAP Advisors, where he served as a consultant. Prior to joining TAP, Mr. Jaffrey was a Managing Director of UBS Investment Bank, most recently serving as Americas Co-head of the Special Situations Group. Mr. Jaffrey also helped build UBS’s Telecom Media and Technology Investment Banking and was Global Head of Satellite Investment Banking and specialized in convergence of TMT. Prior to joining UBS, Mr. Jaffrey was a Managing Director at Merrill Lynch where he built the Global Satellite Investment Banking practice. In the early 90s, Mr. Jaffrey helped build Bear Stearns’ Investment Bank in Asia. Mr. Jaffrey holds a BS magna cum laude in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University and an MBA from Stanford University.

Andres Scaminaci is a Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Melody. He is also a member of Melody’s Investment Committee. Mr. Scaminaci has over 20 years experience in structured finance, credit trading, and law. Prior to founding Melody, Mr. Scaminaci was a Managing Director at UBS Investment Bank, most recently serving as Americas Co-head of the Special Situations Group and head of the New York office. Prior to joining UBS, Mr. Scaminaci was Head of Illiquid Credit Structuring for Latin America at Merrill Lynch. He also served on the Emerging Markets Structured Credit Team at Deutsche Bank. Mr. Scaminaci began his career as an attorney. He was worked for Akin Gump, Thelen Reid, and Bazan Cambre & Orts with a focus on corporate and project finance. Mr. Scaminaci was licensed to practice law in both New York and Argentina. Mr. Scaminaci holds a law degree from the Universidad de Buenos Aires and a Masters in Laws from Southern Methodist University.
